ABOUT

Hi y’all! I’m Sarah, and I believe that when your space truly sees you, you finally see yourself.

I’m a professional interior designer and real estate broker based in the heart of Western North Carolina, where I founded Sukkha Interior Design in 2020. My mission? To help you create spaces that don’t just look beautiful—they transform your daily life and wellbeing from the ground up.

Here’s what drives me: After a decade in interior design working on everything from commercial spaces to residential homes to revenue-generating Airbnbs, I discovered my true calling in the unique puzzle of small spaces and tiny homes. There’s something magical about maximizing every square inch while honoring how you actually live.

Speaking of tiny living—I practice what I preach. During the pandemic, I completely renovated a 1973 Avion travel trailer I lovingly named Alanis, and she’s been my home sweet home ever since. Living tiny taught me that thoughtful design isn’t about having more space; it’s about making every space work harder for you.

My dual expertise in design and real estate means I bring deep local market knowledge and investor experience to every project. Whether you’re buying, selling, or developing your dream property, I’m here to guide you through a seamless, stress-free process that gets you from “what if” to “happily ever after.”

When I’m not transforming spaces or helping clients navigate real estate dreams, you’ll find me exploring the magical Blue Ridge Mountains, catching live bluegrass shows in Asheville, flowing through yoga practice, adventuring with my pup Albus, or getting my hands dirty with whatever arts and crafts project has caught my attention.

THE MEANING OF SUKKHA

The name Sukkha is derived from the combination of two meaningful words that truly embody our goals in design and as a company.
Sukha is a Sanskrit word which translates as a deep and long lasting state of happiness, ease, or bliss.
Sukkah is a hut like structure often made from natural materials representing the fragility of existence in the Jewish holiday of Sukkot (“the festival of shelters”) which is a time to appreciate our physical homes and bodies.

MY PHILOSOPHY

Life is too short to feel uninspired by your surroundings. Whether you’re navigating the challenges of tiny home living, creating a welcoming vacation rental, or designing your forever happy home, you deserve a space that reflects your style, supports your lifestyle, and sparks joy every day.
