Truckee Cabin
This one-of-a-kind cabin is tucked away in the Truckee Mountain range on the skirts of Lake Tahoe in CA. The property spans over 3 acres; the house was built manually by a geologist who used found wood and rocks in the region for most of the materials.
While this utterly unique space boasts much to be admired it also presented some unique challenges since everything about the home was custom designed and built. Even the door frames (which are typically 3 ft wide) are uncommon widths. After numerous floor plan revisions we found furnishings that would fit and utilize the unique space in the best way possible and from there it was smooth sailing.
The shared downstairs bathroom is extremely small and the original setup did not function well so we did renovate and upgrade the room, including new toilet, sink, vanity, and flooring. The hand-painted tiles help balance the new finishes with the age and character of the rest of the home.
